About Us

In 1961, Grandma’s Frozen Noodles was founded by Robert Piz, one of three brothers who emigrated from Italy. In 1984, Grandma’s Frozen Noodles was taken over by Robert’s son, Dirk and his wife, Moni. 

Dirk’s cousin, Dan Piz, came to work for Grandma’s in 1993 and has been the plant manager ever since.  Dan oversees plant operations and shipping and receiving.  His mechanical genius keeps the machinery in perfect running condition. 

Barbara Baker, our semi-retired sales and marketing person has worked for Grandma’s Frozen Noodles off and on since 1987.  When she takes time out from her motorhome trips around the country checking on the stores that carry our noodles, Barb comes into the office and takes care of our customer care issues.  After Dirks untimely passing in 2001, Moni Piz Wilson and Robert Wilson, along with Moni’s children, Porsche and Dex, are continuing the family tradition of producing Grandma’s Frozen Noodles.

Moni oversees the business, dealing with brokers, stores and customers.  She takes care of any fires that need putting out and any special projects before running out the door to pick up kids from school.  Robert, president of a local chemical company, uses his spare time to drive the noodle truck making deliveries to our local Denver customers, Safeway and King Soopers.  Porsche and Dex like to help in the plant and at food shows when they have time off from school. 

Shanon Diamond, our bookkeeper, has been with us for 5 years and juggles caring for her family with working hard to keep up with the duties of her position.  She is never too busy, however, to answer a call from a customer needing a recipe or having a question.

Labe Vilapando has been the "mix-master" for 35+ years and is assisted by Vince Torres.  Hilda Saenz and Barbara Chavez round out the family atmosphere in the plant.

These are the people who enjoy producing over 900,000 packages of noodles a year.  Continuing to offer quality and customer satisfaction is our main goal.  A happy consumer is our best advertisement."
